So, I’m on wordpress.com now.

Thanks to Remi, I have another blog. To tell you the truth, I don’t really need another blog for myself.

I do, however, want to try to get others into blogging, and it seems like this site is ideal for that. (I run WordPress on my personal blog, so I’m familiar with most of it.) Since wordpress.com is different from the WordPress 1.5.2 I normally use, I needed an account for myself so I can answer the inevitable questions that will come up.

I have to admit, I prefer the full control of my own WordPress install (Lorelle explains the limitations and tradeoffs fairly well)… but there are plenty of features here I’d love to see backported to the normal WordPress codebase. For example, having the post preview use your theme’s settings, instead of the defaults, is something I’ve wished for (I have custom CSS settings for displaying images).

That being said… I’m not sure what I’ll be using this site for. It’s more than likely that I’ll simply be using it to republish selected tidbits from my normal blog.
